QMS/9000+TM
Features and Functions
4.20 Statistical Analysis
QMS/9000+ has an analysis and reporting module
that provides the statistical analyses required to operate in a
quality oriented manufacturing environment. This module can be
used by operating personnel, design engineers and others for both
ad hoc inquires and custom reporting.
- General statistics including: average, standard
deviation, lowest reading, highest reading, skewness,
kurtosis, 95% confidence interval, six sigma band, Cp,
Cpk, Cu, Cl
- Charts including: X-bar, R, sigma, histograms, regression
analysis, scatter diagrams
- Data manipulation including algebraic/logical operations
- Outlier elimination with user-specified limits
- Rapid database search response time
- One-way ANOVA, Correlation, T test
- Keyword control/search capability including date range
- Report macros to define periodic custom reports
- Row/column export facility to other analysis routines
Graphical Capabilities
"A picture is worth a thousand words" certainly
applies when trying to describe complex statistical situations in
manufacturing. QMS/9000+ includes high resolution
color graphics on PCs, printers and plotters.
- Charts are available for:
X X-Bar X-Bar Range
Sigma X-Bar Sigma Tolerance
Scatter/Regression Histogram p, np, c, u
Pareto Cp, Cpk, Cpu, Cpl
- High resolution graphics available for PC display and
hard copy plotters
- Low resolution (text type) data plots for non-graphics
terminals and printers
- Unlimited sample size for X-Bar and sigma charts
- Warning message when sample size exceeds allowable limit
for X-Bar R charts
- Automatic warning when subgroup exceeds control limits
- Automatic warning for cumulative subgroups exceeding
control limit
- Choice of calculated or fixed control limit
- Subgroup ID on chart
- Summary description statistics of individuals
- Chart text identification
- Moving window of last N points
- Data entry by both case and variable
- Variable and fixed sample size limits for p and np charts
- Exception reporting of out-of-control conditions
General Sampling Features
Destructive testing requires sampling to assess quality.
Sampling can also be the best way to reduce appraisal costs. QMS/9000+
equips the user for both standard and non-standard sampling as
well as the means to evaluate the effectiveness of any sampling
plan.
- Standard sampling plans provided
- Generation of O.C. Curves for variables and attributes
- Non-standard sampling plans
- Historical / "what if" distribution of plan
effectiveness
- Automatic test scheduling
- Automatic follow up/corrective action
- Complete documentation of results
- Standard and custom reports
- Resource allocation information
Sampling Test Strategies
Even when only a sample of the product is used, testing is
expensive and should be done in as cost efficient a manner as
possible. Testing plans may be applied to actual testing history
establishing the optimum test strategy for each product and raw
material.
- Variable and attribute test plans
- Automatic generation of operating characteristic curves
- Tabular listing of operating characteristic curves
- Comparison of attribute testing versus variable testing
- Past history option
- Effectiveness of testing strategy (percent defective in
tested material vs. percent defective in accepted
material)
- Option to include sorting of rejected lots to improve
yield
