Cost of Quality

QMS/9000+ provides the means to track the cost of internal and external failures, quality appraisal and preventative actions on a real-time basis. The system can acquire cost data associated with design efforts, operator training, and other quality related activities and create regular and ad hoc custom reports in both tabular and graphical formats.

QMS captures test and inspection labor hours as part of the entry of the test and inspection results. Actual hours are compared with standards to obtain performance efficiencies. The costs of rework, repair and scrap can be entered directly or fed from an existing accounting system. This information can be broken down by program, part, vendor, department or any other identifier that is maintained in the database.

QMS provides reports of such failure costs in graphical and tabular form. Warranty, field failure and product liability costs can also be tracked by QMS. For purposes of computing labor hours/efficiency QMS/9000+ allows you to collect actual labor hours and set standard hours. These hours can represent test, inspection or production hours, including summaries of hours by product code, task, technician, and comparison with standard hours.
